Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does your church believe?

We are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, Baptist church who loves God and loves people. Please check the “Our Beliefs” section of this website for more information.

2. How do I get to Calvary Baptist Church?

We are located at 785 E. 1^st Street (east of Holmes Ave. and west of Woodruff Ave.)

You can enter the parking lot from First Street, Fanning Ave. or Lomax Street.

From the parking lot you will see the main entrance marked “Welcome” where you will be greeted and guided to classes or worship.

3. What are your worship services like?

The worship service will begin with music selected to draw our focus to worshipping God. You’ll find a broad range of musical styles blending traditional with contemporary.

The pastor’s message will focus on God’s Word, the Bible as it applies to our lives today.

4. What is available for my children?

Babies and toddlers are cared for at all regularly scheduled church services and many special programs.

Sunday School Classes are provided for: Babies and Toddlers, 2 & 3 year-olds,

4&5 year-olds, and Kindergarten. Drop-off and pick-up your preschoolers in the education wing lower level.

During the Morning Worship Service care is provided for 2&3 year-olds as an extension of their Sunday School class. Four year-olds through Kindergarten attend worship with their families but are dismissed prior to the sermon for a learning time planned especially for them.

Sunday School classes for children in grades 1 – 6 are located in the education wing, upper floor.

5. How should I dress?

Please wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Many attending Calvary Baptist worship services will dress in business casual – some dress up, and some wear blue jeans.
